The America's Car Collection Museum was designed to provide one central location to store and display the owner's extensive private collection of classic cars which was previously unavailable to the public and housed in various garages scattered around town.  The curvilinear forms of the building were inspired by the curved lines of the cars themselves.  The interior of the building was separated into two primary spaces: a public museum for display and a private storage area to allow for a rotating collection.  The roof structure was exposed at the top of the dramatic 2-story exhibition space and painted a bright orange color as a nod to the vehicular nature of the building.  The HVAC system was carefully designed to filter the sandy, dry desert air in order to protect the paint jobs on the classic cars.  An existing full-service on-site garage provided services as needed.  The parking lot was specifically designed to host car clubs and shows.  The front entry paving was enhanced with an iconic black-and-white checkered pattern to be used as a "Winner's Circle" for visiting car clubs as well as to define the main entry to the museum.
