The owner of the Boardwalk Residence property wanted a unique and eye-catching design to take advantage of the home's highly visible corner location on the Mission Beach boardwalk.  In order to accomplish this goal, a large rotunda element was placed on the southwest corner of the site along with an adjacent tapered balcony, reminiscent of a diving board.  On the southern façade, deep balconies expand the living areas and provide prime locations for watching people and the waves.  The modern look is emphasized by the use of white stucco, extensive glazing, and an angular sunshade element.  A whirlpool spa crowns the roof of the rotunda and becomes the focal point of the expansive roof deck.
