In order to add a physical therapy assistant program to their existing facilites, PIMA Medical Institute needed to expand their San Marcos campus. This 3rd floor suite was designed specifically to accommodate this new use, while keeping in context with the rest of their campus, located on the 1st and 2nd floors of the same building.

The program included two classrooms, one computer lab, and a large physical therapy lab with support spaces. In order to create a visual connection with the 1st floor lobby, a wood slat ceiling of a similar design was installed in the entry lobby. Installing glass storefronts on all of the rooms allowed us to borrow natural light from the perimeter windows.

Since the existing 3rd floor had previously been a shell space, part of this project included constructing a common hallway to subdivide the floor for future adjacent tenants. New skylights were installed in the hallway for daylighting. A custom carpet design adds interest to the space.
