The Rio Courtyard building was designed as a speculative office building located in the Mission Valley area of San Diego.  Its location provides easy access to the I-8 and SR-163 freeways, in addition to numerous hotels, shops, restaurants, and other business amenities.  The building features a 2-story lobby, entrance plaza, and rear exterior plaza which ties into the existing pedestrian walkway.  The floor plates and building massing were designed to maximize tenant access to natural light and views.  Inspired by its location adjacent to the San Diego River, the building was clad in a nature-inspired color palette of green tinted glass and Padre Gold limestone.  The limestone carries into the lobby and is complimented by warm wood tones and custom resin panels embedded with natural grasses.
