SEACREST

San Diego, California
Pacific Beach

Mixed-Use, New Construction
12 residential units, 2 commercial units,
3 stories + basement

The Seacrest project is located on an active corner in the Pacific Beach community and just two doors away from the ocean.  The design was influenced by the traditional beach cottages that populate the area, but modernized with a contemporary and "beachy" color palette and building massing.  Commercial spaces on the ground floor are highlighted by red brick facades and large storefront windows to take advantage of the heavy pedestrian traffic.  A transit plaza was also incorporated into the design, adjacent to the existing bus stop, and provides an additional public space to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.  A full underground garage serves the residents, while on-grade parking spaces serve the commercial functions.  The project includes ten 2-bedroom single-story units and two 2-bedroom two-story units.  The majority of units are angled towards the southwest, in order to capture ocean views, and all enjoy large private balconies.  Residents are able to walk to the beach and numerous bars, shops, and restaurants that surround the site.
