The Sun Plaza office building was designed to contain a mix of assigned corporate office space, speculative office tenant spaces, a television studio, and retail spaces at the base, along with an attached parking garage screened by a multi-story art wall.  The unique curvilinear floor plates would provide panoramic views of the city, desert, and mountains beyond.  A large, polished stainless steel sphere sculpture on the roof was designed as a branding element representative of the sun.  The exterior skin was composed of an aluminum and glass curtain wall system along with a twenty foot deep cantilevered sunshade element.
